How do I find my advisor?
CSO has multiple advisors for our 4-year, 2-year, and transition programs. Each student at CSO has a specific advisor depending on their school and the type of program they are in (4-year, 2-year, or students transitioning into a school.) Head over to our CSO Staff page to see a list of CSO College Advisors and Staff and some of the schools they work with. If you are unsure of who your specific advisor is, please contact the CSO Office at (646)539-5949.

What can I use my CSO scholarship for?
As part of the CSO program, each student that matriculates into CSO receives a scholarship that can be used towards recieving a laptop from CSO or towards academic expenses (i.e. tuiton and books.) Once students enter the CSO program, they are given the option of chosing a laptop or recieving their scholarship. Students who choose to recieve the CSO scholarship monetarily are able to utilize their scholarship at any point during their academic career for academic purposes only. Students can not be reimbursed from their scholarship for any expense. Once a student has depleted their scholarship amount or recieved a laptop, they will not recieve additional CSO scholarship funds.

What do I do if I want to transfer schools?
Students thinking about transfering from their current schools are encouraged to met with their specific advisor before beginning the transfer process. CSO is fortunate to have unique relationships with many schools both in New York and throughout the country, and your advisor can help give you the best information on how to get you into a school that works best for you.

When can I apply for a CSO internship?
Internships through CSO are offered during the Fall, Winter, and Summer semesters through a lottery system. Students recieve information on when and how to apply through their advisors. Students selected into a CSO internship must submit all necessary forms to HCZ Human Resources in order to be paid for their hours. See our Student Forms page for more information.

What other sevices does CSO offer?
CSO hosts a number of great services for students in addition to support from individual advisors. As a part of the College Success Office, students have access to our Career Services and Social Services departments for additional support. We also have several programs for students throughout the year focusing on various topics such as time management skills, health and wellness, book clubs, and various off-site activities.
